Hailing from Bangor, Northern Ireland, Two Door Cinema Club’s ‘Something Good Can Work’ is an injection of summery, danceable pop that showcases why they have been drawing comparisons with the likes of Vampire Weekend. Kicking things off with an infuriatingly catchy electro hook the chorus allows vocalist Alex to show off his falsetto. However, the song does start to get slightly repetitive and there is an unnecessary mid section to try and give the song a ‘live’ feel, though it just gives me the impression that they couldn’t completely fill what is already a short song and, ironically, I can’t see it working in a live environment. Despite this, it still packs enough punch to get you smiling and moving.
