Sea Wolf is a band led by Alex Brown Church, an indie rock musician based in Los Angeles, California. Church attended film school at NYU and was a founding member of a group called Irving in 1998. Many of the songs he wrote as a member of Irving didn't fit the group's style, and so Church began performing as Sea Wolf with a rotating ensemble of backing musicians, playing locally in Los Angeles and recording demos in Seattle with producer Phil Ek (Band of Horses, The Shins, Fleet Foxes).

Lupine Good!
Alex Brown Church AKA Sea Wolf releases a brand new single digitally on October 27th and physically a week later. `Winter Windows` is released through DangerbirdRecords and comes hot on the heels of the `Get To The River Before It Runs Too Low EP`.
Sea Wolf was described as the "latest entrant in a seemingly endless procession of humongously talented alternative rock artists from the USA" by Culturedeluxe earlier in the year and this East-European influenced, accordion-led alt.rock number has the potential to increase the world`s awareness of Alex`s special talent.
Every few months a potential great drops into our laps at Culturedeluxe and I'm pleased to say Sea Wolf (aka Alex Brown Church) has finally been brought to our attention as his debut record gets a belated release across the Atlantic.
The possibly autobiographical 'You're the Wolf' begins the EP fittingly with the strongest concentration of pop on the disc. However, the following four tracks provide best value for money
'The Garden That You Planted' reveals a Stephen Malkmus-like vocal over a cello-driven lament, 'I Made a Resolution' springs butterfly-like from its cocoon a minute in resplendent in enthusiastic strings, 'Ses Monuments' introduces some rudimentary electronica while 'I Don't Know If I'll Be Back This Time' is a polar opposite comprising little more than a dirty squeezebox and Wolf's vocals.
Sea Wolf is the latest entrant in a seemingly endless procession of humongously talented alternative rock artists from the USA. We really don't deserve this when all we've given them recently is Leona fucking Lewis.
