Festival 2009 Updates
The Great Escape: One week to go, Spongebob for Camp Bestival, Field Day and Offset announce line ups
Last minute confirmations this year will see Scandinavian popsters Peter Bjorn and John, nu-gazers Maps, digital groovers Plugs, post-punk upstarts Dead Kids and the attitude overload of Man Like Me, all joining the bill alongside some of the biggest hitters from across the board, including Kasabian, Gang of Four, British Sea Power, The Maccabees, Lightspeed Champion, The Black Lips, The Charlatans, Patrick Wolf, Mystery Jets, Noah and the Whale and Enter Shikari. But the festival’s reputation has been built on their uncanny ability to sniff out the hottest up-and-coming acts out there, giving punters their first chance to catch future superstars. Top tips to catch on Thursday include Soap&Skin, Amazing Baby, Mika Miko, An Experiment On A Bird In The Airpump, The Pains Of Being Pure at Heart, Marnie Stern, Hockey, Blue Roses and Micachu and The Shapes. Friday’s upfront goodness comes from the likes of Kissy Sell Out, Django Django, Chew Lips, Dinosaur Pile-Up, The Chapman Family, The XX, Trailer Trash Tracys, Mumford and Sons, Crystal Antlers, The Temper Trap and The Soft Pack. And the low-down for the final day includes The Joy Formidable, Three Trapped Tigers, Banjo Or Freakout, Little Boots, Girls, Your Twenties, School of Seven Bells, Marina and the Diamonds, V V Brown and Ex Lovers. Phase Five NZ Music will also be presenting the cream of New Zealand’s music scene, including Liam Finn, The Veils and many more.
This year’s conference program is also the event’s finest to date with key note sessions from industry figures that are changing the face of the music business and the way we all consume music including Daniel Ek (Spotify), Eric Garland (BigChampagne), Nathan Lovejoy (LimeWire), Patrick Walker (YouTube), Steve Knopper (Rolling Stone), Gary Warren (HMV), John Leckie (Producer), Chris Morrison (CMO), Will Page (PRS for Music) * Feargal Sharkey (UK Music), Colin Greenwood (Radiohead) and Simon Armitage (Renowned poet and Ivor Novello Award Winner).

Field Day Festival announce that Micachu & The Shapes, The Big Pink, The XX and Plugs join The Horrors, Mogwai, Santigold and Mystery Jets at this small but perfectly form London festival.

Offset Festival have The Horrors, legendary post-punkers The Slits, Factory Records` second-ever signing - punk-funk legends A Certain Ratio and forward-thinking artrockers Future Of The Left.
Other stages will host performances from Rolo Tomassi, Architects, Factory Floor, THROATS, Nuke Them All, Maths and a Douglas Hart (Jesus & Mary Chain) DJ Set!
